Programming of CNC lathe decides cutting data and amount of feed

The programmer should decide the cutting data of every process during programming. And they should consider any factor to select the condition to quality and output.

The main factors are cutting speed, depth of cut and feed rate.

The cutting speed can directly influence efficiency. If the speed is too small, the time can be longer, so that the cutters can not give its function into full play; otherwise, the time can be shortened, but the service life can be influenced. And the factors can be summarlized juat as follows:

(1)Material

Different materials can have different cutting speed. The speed of high speed cutter stand fire can not reach 50m/min, carbide is larger than 100m/min and the ceramic can as high as 1000m/min.

(2)Material

Hardness can influence the cutting speed.

(3)Service life

The smaller speed can create longer service life.

(4)Depth of cutting and feed rate

The bigger depth and feed rate can have bigger cutting resistance and heat, so thata the speed of cutting can be lowered.

(5)Shape

Shape, angle and keenness can influence speed of cutting.

(6)Usage of cutting solution

Good rigidity and accuracy can improve cutting speed and otherwise the speed is lower.

The most important factor influencing cutting speed is material of cutters.

The depth of cutting is up to rigidity. The depth should remain as big as possible. And if there is no accuracy limits, we should make depth of cutting equal to machining allowance.

Speed of mainshaft should bedecided according to cutting speed of machine tool and cutters by calculating and checking forms.

Feed rate and feed speed should be decided according to accuracy, roughness, cutters and materials. The maximum feed speed is limited by rigidity, feed drive and CNC system.

Programmer should decide cutting amount suits machine tool and best incorruptibility of cutters according to instructions and abrasion resistance. Of course, you can choose by comparison. Anyway, you should malke sure that you can finish processing of one single workpiece and the abrasion resistance can not be lower half run.
